REVENUE / SALES

Add the product name or service you sell then press the plus button. An input will appear to the right to add your sales figure (excl. VAT). You can add multiple sources of sales/revenue if you have more than one. The period of sales can be a week, month, quarter or year as you prefer.

CORE COST OF SALES

Enter your core costs, broken down between main revenue sources. Enter the cost value (excl. VAT) in the input box that appears. Costs also show as a percentage of total turnover.

OTHER COST OF SALES

Enter your other costs of sales, e.g. transport. Again you can add multiple sources of any direct costs you incur to make the sale. Enter the cost value (excl. VAT) in the input box. Costs also show as a percentage of total turnover.

GROSS PROFIT

See your gross profit and percentage profit margin before accounting for operating costs which you will enter further below.

OPERATING COSTS

Enter the name of your operating cost. For example wages, rent, council tax, utilities, insurance etc (excl. VAT). Once entered, press the plus button and enter the figure in the input which appears.

NET PROFIT (PRE-TAX)

This shows your pre-tax profit figure and as a percentage of sales turnover. Note - how much tax you pay on your profits varies and can be found in FAQ section.

This shows your total corporation tax bill (rate can be set manually) for the period and the bottom line profit and overall margin.
